This year's After School Program Needs  

PROGRAM FORMAT:

VOLUNTEER NEEDS:

MENTORS - build a long-term relationship with 2-3 students

Both the elementary and junior high students in this program need godly adults to form relationships with them. Because they lack consistency and stability in their homes, these students need a mentor who is ready to commit to them long-term.

Don't let that scare you.  We'll guide you each step of the way, and we're sure you'll discover this is the best relational investment you could ever make! 

Commitments: attend at least one night of the program per week, based on your choice of age group meet with your students twice per month outside the program to grow the relationship 

Grade choice: choose between elementary (3^rd-5^th graders) or junior high (6^th-8^th graders)

Time:5:30-7pm on your chosen day (?or come earlier, even for the whole day, if you can!)

TUTORS - provide academic help for 1-2 students

Students desperately need help not only understanding their homework, but also the encouragement to complete it.  To make this a reality, we are recruiting people like you who are willing to help 1-2 students finish their homework and improve their academic skills.  High school juniors & seniors, this could be an ideal senior project for you!

Commitment: attend one night of the program per week to assist kids with homework.

Grade choice: choose between elementary (3^rd-5^th graders) or junior high (6^th-8^th graders).

Time: 4:30-5:30pm on your chosen day.

COOKS - provide a healthy snack or hot meal

We give our students a healthy snack when they arrive & a hot meal later in the evening for both students & our leaders. Have your Sunday School class, small group, or extended family team up to provide either a snack or hot meal.

Commitment: bring a ready-to-eat snack or meal on a monthly, bi-monthly or 1-time basis provide all paper products for group as well. Food is needed for the following amounts of people on the corresponding days:
